Batsford Arboretum and wild garden the former home of the Mitford Family.

Batsford BridgeOne of the largest private collections of trees in Great Britain. Spring starts early at Batsford with snowdrops and aconites followed by in March by a dazzling display of daffodils and Britain’s national collection of flowering cherries. Many wild flowers including orchids and fritillaries adorn the arboretum during summer. In autumn the many rare and unusual trees explode into their magnificent reds, golds and purples. Follow the stream through pools and waterfalls to its source, make a wish with the giant Buddha, find the Foo Dog hidden amongst the trees, then dodge the waterfall without getting too wet. Rest awhile and view the herd of deer in the deer park. On Boxing Day enjoy a complimentary glass of mulled wine. Dogs are welcome in the arboretum as long as they are kept on a lead. Come and enjoy 50 acres of peace and tranquillity – pure Cotswold magic.

On site we also have a gift shop garden centre and cafe.
